Each week teaches a different dimension of prayer — adoration, confession, intercession, petition. By the end of 40 days you’ll have a richer posture for how you talk to God and hear from him. Prayer stops feeling like a discipline and starts feeling like a relationship.
WITH ONE ANOTHER
SHARED PURPOSE
The whole church fasts and prays around the same themes at the same time. The daily devotional and weekly prayer gathering create a shared rhythm — something we do together that pulls us toward each other and toward God.

Fasting creates space. Many people find that 40 intentional days reshape what they reach for and who they trust. The goal isn’t spiritual achievement — it’s that we become, together, a people defined by God’s presence.
WHY 40 DAYS
a SEASON OF FORMATION
God has been calling Boulder Valley to be a people of his presence. This fall we’re saying yes — 40 days of prayer and fasting as a whole church.
Forty is the number Scripture uses for formation. Each time it leads somewhere new.

How to Participate
THREE THINGS TO DO
FAST
Choose a day to fast
Pick one or more days between October 7 and November 15 and commit to a full-day food fast. Multiple people can fast the same day — the goal is that together, as a church, we cover all 40. You’ll get a confirmation email when you sign up and a reminder the day before.
ONE FULL DAY
READ THE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
A short written devotional post every morning, Monday through Saturday, in Church Center — written to help you pray and sit in that week’s theme. Join the all-church group to read alongside everyone else. Show up Sunday for the teaching series that anchors each week.

Finish together
November 14–15, the whole church fasts together for 24 hours and fills the building with continuous prayer in 60-minute shifts. The season closes with a Special Sunday — open-mic testimonies and celebration. You’ll receive a confirmation and reminder before your shift.
